Lake Oroville

Lake Oroville is a fun canyon type lake that the water levels can raise and lower significantly and either way it’s a great lake to boat on. The Oroville Dam is the highest dam in the United States rising 770 feet above the city of Oroville. Oroville is in my top 5 lakes on the West Coast for houseboats, so plan a vacation and spend a week. You will need to be careful or you might buy a houseboat and call it the “Office” and commute back to Reno. Oroville has a vast array of fish ranging from smallmouth bass to king salmon. Not too many lakes can boast that many different types of fish. The nearly 170 miles of shoreline will allow plenty of options to find the perfect place to set up camp for the night or the week.
